The Final Chapter of BLK + BRWN. (1.0) begins today.
In exactly 100 days — on November 29, 2025 — our brick-and-mortar home will close its doors.

This space has been more than a bookstore. It’s been a gathering place, a safe haven, a stage for joy, protest, conversation, and community care. Every book we’ve shelved, every story we’ve celebrated, every laugh and tear we’ve shared… it’s all because of yall (our ecosystem).

While this chapter is ending, our story isn’t over.
BLK + BRWN. is turning the page toward a new model — one where we’ll keep bringing you books, culture, and community through online orders, pop-ups, and activations in unexpected spaces. Think of it as a roaming love letter to Black literature and community connection.

Here’s what’s next:

• One Final Event — Our last in-store gathering before we close. Details coming soon, but save the dates (Late Novemberish) and prepare to celebrate.

• Fieldnotes — A new vision for storytelling, community, and creative space. Learn more Fieldnotes here.

• Support Our Transition — Many of you have asked if I’d be launching a GoFundMe to help close out this chapter strong and step into the next. At first, I felt it might be too much to ask. But a wise friend reminded me: this community believes in the work, there is a legacy already built behind your dreams, and your community deserves the chance to choose how they want to support. Safe to say, points were made.

Every gesture — big or small — means the world as we close one season and open another.

And then… I’m going quiet (for a little).
After the store closes, I’ll be stepping away for a period of rest, reflection, and listening — getting still enough to hear what’s next. A chance to write and grieve and dream. BLK + BRWN. will still exist, but I’ll be tending to the roots before the next bloom.

This countdown is our invitation to spend the next 100 days together — visiting, sharing, donating, celebrating, and remembering. Let’s send this space off the way it deserves.
