As we approach the holiday season, I wanted to share with you all some exciting upcoming events and gratitude! The bookstore will be closed for the holiday on 11/28! So check us out this weekend instead!

Bookstore Rent Fundraiser Update!

We have officially reached our goal of $20,000 towards our bookstore rent fund. A HUGE thank you to all the donations, book purchases, shares, likes, and encouragement along the way.

Join us for the My Black Country Holiday party Sunday, December 8, 2024

(2PM- 3PM CST)  (3PM-4PM EST) and (Noon  to 1PMPST). Live from the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville.

Saaneah (featured on My Black Country album) will be singing lost classics and family favorites from the Black Country Christmas songbook—and Alice Randall will share Christmas memories featuring the First Family of Black Country and Black Country holiday cookie recipes. Buy a book from one of our hosting bookstores (like us!) to get the code, be or become a NMAAM member to get the code, or follow @msalicerandall and post a picture of you reading My Black Country or spinning the vinyl My Black Country with #myblackcountry to get the code.

Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Stumbling Towards the Buddha!

Join us December 14th @ 2:00 pm as we celebrate one of our favorite writers (and bonus she’s a local writer) Ms. Dawn! This is open to the community! Meet the author, Ms. Dawn Downey, and grab a copy of this beautiful collection of debut essays with some incredible new words revisiting the assumptions once held and realizations about where they are now by the author, too!

P.s. If you have not met Ms. Dawn, you truly need to. She is such an incredible human being and one of our favorite people. Trust us, she will light your spirit!
