Thank you for all the support in the downtime with the bookstore physically being closed. Full transparency, I haven’t fully been unplugged from work the way I would have hoped but that is sometimes the common trade as a small business owner. I thank y’all for letting me pretend to take a break.

Are you a local writer, aspiring writer, or just a casual writer (ages 16+)?

We are excited to announce a call for submissions for our upcoming horror/sci-fi anthology set in Kansas City at the center, which we will publish and release in the fall.

Movie Night Pick

This month we will be doing a screening of Stan Lathan’s film adaptation of James Baldwin’s classic novel, Go Tell it on the Mountain. Telling the journey of a family from the rural South to "big city" Harlem seeking both salvation and understanding and of a young boy struggling to earn the approval of a self-righteous and often unloving stepfather.

As we celebrate Baldwin’s 100th birthday this month, we decided what better way than with a party for Baldwin? Join us as we reflect on his timeless wisdom, his ever so timely social commentary with a little kickback form. Tickets range from $5-$10. Lite bites, drinks, and community.
