Hey Good Humans!

Welcome back to another week of bookish and Black and Brown happenings.

Black Maternal Health Week last week we celebrated by being a vendor at the Kansas Birth Equity Network. It was incredibly grounding to share space and honor the Black women/birthing people that have lost their lives to inequitable healthcare resources and also highlight how important it is to have not just resources but accessible resources.

Our first Writers Workshop and this quarter’s spoken word night went so well. I am truly honored to be able to open the doors to the community and see the incredible individuals come together and share their talents, pour into one another, and just have a good time. Shoutout to all the participants, facilitators, and community members that showed up and out over the weekend!

Indie Bookstore Day Saturday, April 27th

This year we are celebrating Indie Bookstore with prizes, a mini scavenger hunt for the golden ticket to win a year’s worth of audiobooks and light refreshments.

Stop by and support your local book pusher on our national holiday.

UPDATE: our Bookstore Rent Fundraiser has crossed the $7,900 mark. We are a little under 40% of hitting our goal of $20,000 to cover the bookstore rent for the year. I really appreciate you all for the random acts of kindness every single time. Thank you for being a part of our story!
